Discussion and possible recommendation regarding proposed rule amendments to 16 Texas Administrative Code, Chapter 75, §§75.10, 75.20, 75.21, 75.22, 75.23, 75.28, 75.29, 75.30, 75.70, 75.71, 75.73, and 75.80, and creation of new sections 75.281, 75.282, 75.283, and 75.284. The proposed amendments and new rules implement House Bill 3029 (85th R.S.), which creates the new “certified technician” certification within the ACR program. The proposed rules add definitions, set out eligibility requirements for the certified technician certification, provide for the continuation of an existing certified technician designation, define the requirements for a certification training program, provide a process for approval of a certification training program, set out the responsibilities of certification training program providers, provide standards for the certified technician examination, define exemptions, address responsibilities of contractors and technicians, create registration and renewal fees for certified technicians, and make a number of editorial and organizational changes
  7. Discussion of workgroup findings and possible recommendations regarding whether persons performing Manual J load calculations should be required to hold an ACR contractor license
  8. Possible appointment of a workgroup to discuss the ACR Contractor licensing structure and requirements for licensure
