Discussion and possible recommendation on the proposed amendments to existing rules at 16 Texas Administrative Code (TAC), Chapter 120, §§ 120.21, 120.22, 120.23, 120.25, and 120.90, regarding the Dyslexia Therapy Program. The proposed amendments reduce the documentation that must be provided by applicants who are certified by the Academic Language Therapy Association (ALTA); update the names of the examinations required for licensure; clarify the types of courses that qualify for continuing education credit; correct cross-references; allow continuing education credit for the human trafficking prevention training course required for license renewal; and allow telehealth services to be provided without an initial in-person meeting.

The Dyslexia Therapists and Practitioners Advisory Committee will accept public comment for the October 27, 2020 meeting. 

Written comments must be submitted to Public.Comments@tdlr.texas.gov by no later than 12:00 p.m., Monday, October 26, 2020. Comments will be provided to the Committee members for their review prior to the meeting but will not be read aloud during the public meeting.
