New curriculum course applications which also include distance education approval are now available on the TDLR website:
Forms and Publications for Cosmetology Schools | Texas.gov
As promised, we are providing the information you will need for a successful transition for barber and cosmetology schools.
- The certificate of approval that your school currently holds will remain valid and will not expire. Please remember that the certificate of approval for each school reflects the courses that your school is approved to offer and teach.
- If your school intends to teach new courses or make changes to distance education hours for the new school year that are not reflected on your certificate of approval, you will need to submit curriculum course applications for approval to offer those new courses and/or implement new distance education hours.
- Curriculum course applications can be submitted by using the E&E webform page: Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation – Forms -TDLR โ Education Form
If your school does not intend to make any changes to the courses you are currently teaching, or to the distance education you are offering, then you will not need to take any action or submit any information to TDLR.
All notices will go out via our GovDelivery Service so please ensure we have the correct email address on file for your school.
