On January 31, 2025, the department received notice that Midlothian Driving School in Midlothian, Texas closed.
The Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation, which regulates driver training courses and providers, is now in possession of the student records and is working diligently to sort through them. Once we have completed this process, we will create a Verification of Instruction letter based off the hours on the Classroom and In-car logs.
Once TDLR processes the records, they will be mailed or emailed to the address listed on the student’s enrollment contract. The department will then file on the $10,000.00 school bond, and issue refunds based on the number of students affected by the closure and the number of hours the student had already completed at the school.
If you are a student who transferred to Coastline you will not be due to a refund.
