Dear Motorcycle instructor,
All motorcycle instructors must submit fingerprints for a national criminal history record review in accordance with the Transportation Code, Chapter 662, Section 662.0063.
Beginning August 1, 2025, you must be fingerprinted successfully pass a criminal history background check. as part of your renewal requirement.
The licensee is responsible for paying the fee associated with this review to the fingerprint vendor used by the Texas Department of Public Safety. You will receive instructions for the fingerprint process when you submit your renewal application.
