The readoption notice was published in the March 13, 2026 issue of the Texas Register (51 TexReg 1720).

]]> Commission Approves Qualified Applied Behavior Analysis Credentialing Board® (QABA®) as a Certifying Entity for Behavior Analysis Licensure https://www.tdlr.texas.gov/news/2024/12/09/commission-approves-qualified-applied-behavior-analysis-credentialing-board-qaba-as-a-certifying-entity-for-behavior-analysis-licensure/ TDLR-WP-POST-ID-1792 Mon, 09 Dec 2024 20:43:21 +0000 On Friday, December 6, 2024, the Texas Commission of Licensing and Regulation voted to approve the Qualified Applied Behavior Analysis Credentialing Board® (QABA®) as a certifying entity for behavior analysis licensure under TOC 506.002 (2). 

Starting December 6, 2024, Individuals holding a current Qualified Autism Services Practitioner Supervisor® (QASP-S®) certification may apply for an Assistant Behavior Analyst license by submitting a complete application and fee to TDLR. 

Individuals holding a current Qualified Behavior Analyst® (QBA®) certification may apply for a Behavior Analyst license by submitting a complete application and fee to TDLR. 

Programming is required to update the online application for individuals holding QABA® certifications. The online application process should be available in late January for those individuals.

TDLR strongly encourages you to take advantage of the opportunity to apply or renew online. The process is secure and easy to use – and faster than submitting paper-based applications and supporting documents, especially as TDLR deals with significant staffing issues related to COVID-19.

  • Applications submitted online can take 30 days to process once TDLR receives all required documents.
  • Applications submitted by mail may face significant delays, which may take up to 90 days once TDLR receives all required documents.

Access the online licensing system here. If you need to submit a document outside of the online application, please scan the document and send it to TDLR using our online customer service form.

If you need to submit a transcript, please ask your university to send electronic transcripts to TDLR at cs.transcript@tdlr.texas.gov instead of mailing in an original or certified copy of an original transcript. If your need to submit other documents, such as receipt of fingerprint submission, please scan the document and send it electronically to TDLR using our Customer Service form.

]]> Notice to Health Care Practitioners of New Training Requirement https://www.tdlr.texas.gov/news/2020/05/27/notice-to-health-care-practitioners-of-new-training-requirement/ TDLR-WP-POST-ID-152 Wed, 27 May 2020 21:41:00 +0000 House Bill 2059 requires certain health care practitioners to complete a Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) approved human trafficking prevention training course to renew their license. The bill also requires HHSC to post a list of approved courses on their website. Licensees are required to comply with the training requirements beginning September 1, 2020.   • Your license must be renewed online every two years. Your BACB certification must be current when you apply to renew your license.
  • Need to update your contact information with TDLR? Visit our contact information update page.
  • TDLR will email you a reminder notice 60 days before your license expires to let you know that it’s time to renew. If you have not renewed 30 days before your license expires, we will also mail you a postcard.
