The Texas Commission of Licensing and Regulation adopted new rules at 16 Texas Administrative Code (TAC), Chapter 60, Subchapter C, ยง60.39, regarding Procedural Rules of the Commission and the Department. The adopted rules establish a process to verify an applicantโs eligibility for licensure or license renewal in accordance with federal law governing eligibility for professional and commercial licenses by requiring selected applicants to submit documentation demonstrating lawful presence in the United States, identifying acceptable forms of documentation, and providing that an application may be denied if sufficient documentation is not submitted.
The adoption justification was published in the April 24, 2026, issue of the Texas Register (51 TexReg 2762). The updated rule chapter will be available in the Texas Administrative Code upon its effective date of May 1, 2026.
