Lower Exam Fees Starting September 1, 2015 - TDLR's mission is to honor the trust of all Texans, ensure public safety and consumer protection, and provide a fair, efficient licensing and regulation environment at the lowest possible cost. A Request for Proposal to seek candidates for the development and administration of TDLR's examinations has been reviewed. The Texas Commission of Licensing and Regulation approved and awarded the contract to PSI on July 29, 2015. As a result of the competitive bidding process, TDLR and PSI have lowered the examination fees which will result in a total savings of $250,000 a year for candidates. These lower fees go into effect on September 1, 2015. The fee structure for each license type/exam type is available through the Candidate Information Bulletin link below.

The Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (TDLR) offers Polygraph examinations at locations around the state on a day to be scheduled by the applicant. You may schedule Polygraph Examiner examinations at several locations around the state. You will receive an eligibility postcard from PSI once you meet all eligibility requirements. The postcard contains instructions for registering and scheduling examinations. You should obtain the Candidate Information Bulletin (CIB) which provides you with detailed information about the examination administered by PSI. The bulletin will provide you with detailed information about taking the examination given by PSI. Acrobat Reader is necessary to view PDF files. The Polygraph examination was developed by PSI, a leader in the assessment industry, along with subject matter experts in the field.
