Internships with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation
The Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (TDLR) is a state regulatory agency that licenses and regulates a broad range of occupations, businesses, facilities, and equipment in Texas. Our agency’s chief goals are to protect the health and safety of all Texans and ensure they are served by qualified and competent professionals. Using functional alignment and a respect-based style of leadership, TDLR's business model fosters innovation, efficiency, and flexibility.
In plain talk, what does that mean? Have you ever attended a UFC event in Texas or visited a nail salon displaying anti-human trafficking signs? Perhaps you've noticed warnings at gas stations about credit card skimmers. In each of these instances, it was because of TDLR. We approve and oversee events, enforce rules in various industries, and contribute to public safety measures. From regulating podiatry, speech pathology to midwifery, massage therapy to combative sports, and cosmetology, TDLR has a hand in ensuring compliance and safeguarding public welfare.
