Apply for a License or Permit
Anyone engaged in weather modification activities in Texas must hold both a weather modification license and permit from TDLR. Licenses and permits are issued for one to four years.

New Weather Modification License — $750
Pay the $750 fee online and submit the following:
- The name, business address, telephone number, and occupation for each qualified meteorologist who will make the day-to-day decisions and carry out the proposed weather modification operation described in the notice of intent.
- A completed Weather Modification Qualification Statement for each technical or scientific person whose qualifications are to be considered.

License Amendment — $650
Pay the $650 fee online and submit the following:
- The name, business address, telephone number, and occupation for each qualified meteorologist who will make the day-to-day decisions and carry out the proposed weather modification operation described in the notice of intent.
- A completed Weather Modification Qualification Statement for each technical or scientific person whose qualifications are to be considered.

Pay the $100 fee online and submit the following:
- Your name, business address, telephone number, and email address.
- The number of your valid Texas Weather Modification License supporting the permit.
- The name, business address, telephone number, and occupation for each qualified meteorologist who will make the day-to-day decisions and carry out the proposed operation.
- A brief statement describing the purpose of the proposed weather modification operation.
- A list of the newspapers where the Notice of Intention will be published, once a week for three weeks.

Pay the $75 fee online and submit the following:
- Your name, business address, telephone number, and email address.
- The number of your valid Texas Weather Modification License supporting the permit.
- The name, business address, telephone number, and occupation for each qualified meteorologist who will make the day-to-day decisions and carry out the proposed operation.
- A brief statement describing the purpose of the proposed weather modification operation.
- A list of the newspapers where the Notice of Intention will be published, once a week for three weeks.
