- Discussion and possible recommendation on the proposed amendments to existing rules at 16 Texas Administrative Code (TAC), Chapter 62, §62.20 and §62.80, regarding the Code Enforcement Officers program. The proposed amendments amend the registration term for a Code Enforcement Officer in Training who upgrades to a Code Enforcement Officer from the remainder of the training registration to a full two-year registration from the date of issuance of the upgrade. The proposed amendment eliminates the need for the newly upgraded Code Enforcement Officer to then have to renew the new registration, sometimes within days of the upgrade, when the initial one-year registration expires. This agenda item includes discussion of the public comments received on the proposed amendments to the rule.
