Recertification inspections are inspections performed to recertify a portable industrialized building that has been altered after the buildings are labeled for Texas and shipped by the manufacturer.

Recertification inspections are performed by third party inspectors registered with TDLR and approved by the Texas Industrialized Building Code Council.

Alteration decals are attached by the third party inspector to each unit altered upon successful completion of the final inspection. The decals are evidence that the building has been recertified under the Texas IHB program. The decals are purchased by the industrialized builder or alteration permit holder responsible for the alterations. Use "Request and Payment for Alteration Decals, Form #056ihb" to purchase alteration decals from the Department.
