Athletic Trainers Licensees Receiving Marketing Calls

We’ve heard from several licensees that they’ve received marketing phone calls from someone saying they’d gotten the licensee’s contact information from TDLR. Although we are required to release basic information about our licensees (name, license number and license status), we do not release personal emails or phone numbers. Combining information from various marketing and financial databases is relatively easy for modern marketers, and they’ll use that aggregated info to try to sell you services. If someone calls you wanting to sell you something, keep your credit card and other info to yourself. Do not provide financial or personal information over the telephone unless you initiate the call yourself, with an entity that’s known to you.
