The Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation is now administering the Court Ordered Instructor Training Course exam, formally known as the Instructor Workshop. The course is a self-paced training course, and the applicant is responsible for studying the Department-provided course materials.
Applicants seeking approval for a Court Ordered Instructor License must:
- Submit the instructor application and fee for approval by TDLR. Once the application has been approved, TDLR will send the applicant the Court Ordered Instructor Training Course Exam Registration form.
- Mail in the Court Ordered Instructor Training Course Exam Registration form and $425 exam fee for each exam that will be taken. Once TDLR receives the registration form, the department will email the course material and candidate information bulletin for the exam they elected to take.
Exam Information
- Exams are scheduled once a month and will be held in Austin, Texas.
- If the applicant fails the exam, they will have 30 days to retake it.
- Each exam is 1 hour long.
