Earn Continuing Education by Proctoring the Practical Test

Are you looking for a rewarding way to earn continuing education (CE) hours while supporting your profession? Licensed Hearing Instrument Fitters and Dispensers now have the opportunity to receive CE credit by serving as proctors for the practical licensing test.

Effective January 1, 2024, updates to TAC §112.70 allow licensees to earn continuing education credit for proctoring the practical test. You will earn one CE hour per test date, with a maximum of four hours per 2-year license term.

Proctor Eligibility Requirements:

To be eligible to serve as a proctor, you must:

• Be licensed and in good standing;
• Have held your license for at least two years; and
• Have observed three full test sessions

Benefits of Becoming a Proctor are:

• Earning up to four CE hours per license term
• Contributing to the profession by helping the next generation of hearing instrument fitters and dispensers
• Receiving compensation of $200 per day for each test date and mileage reimbursement if traveling from out-of-town
