  • A physician licensed in Texas
  • An employee or other individual who is delegated tasks by a physician licensed in Texas
  • A "health professional" licensed under another law, where laser hair removal is within the scope of practice for that professional's practice, as determined by the licensing board for that profession (see Texas Occupations Code, Title 3)

Criminal History Background Check

All applicants for an individual laser hair removal certificate must successfully pass a criminal history background check.

Please see the Guidelines for License Applicants with Criminal Convictions, which describe the process by which TDLR determines whether a criminal conviction renders an applicant an unsuitable candidate for the license, or whether a conviction warrants revocation or suspension of a license previously granted.
