Texas Registered Sanitarian Examination
The Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation’s (TDLR’s) mission is to honor the trust of all Texans, safeguard the public, and provide a fair and efficient licensing and regulatory environment at the lowest possible cost. TDLR has contracted with third party vendor, PSI, to administer the Registered Sanitarian Examination for the Registered Sanitarian Program. The Registered Sanitarian exam fee is $60 (previously $105 - saving candidates $45).
TDLR offers the Registered Sanitarian exam at several locations around the state which are available for applicant scheduling. Upon TDLR approval of eligibility, PSI will send you an email confirmation with instructions for scheduling an appointment to take the examination. If an email address was not provided to TDLR at the time of application, you will receive a postcard via U.S. Mail from PSI with scheduling information. You should review the Candidate Information Bulletin (CIB) which provides exam content information, a reference list, fee payment information, exam site addresses, and detailed information about PSI’s examination administration procedures.
The Registered Sanitarian exam is maintained and delivered by PSI. For general information about PSI, go to the company's website at www.psionline.com. For information about the PSI testing administration or to register after exam eligibility has been received, go to www.psiexams.com.
The CIB is available for download in Adobe Acrobat .pdf format. Acrobat Reader is necessary to view .pdf files. If you need to obtain a copy of this program it is available as a free download for Windows or Macintosh operating systems.
Exam Eligibility Emails and Postcards Sent in Error
November 14, 2017
TDLR has determined that exam eligibility notification emails and postcards were mistakenly sent to individuals whose exam-eligible validity period had already expired and to individuals who had already passed their licensing exam. This error has since been corrected. We apologize for any confusion caused by this error. If you have mistakenly received an email or postcard and have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact us at CS.Sanitarian@tdlr.texas.gov.
